Should current crude oil prices really be that high? - current crude

Taking into account the fact that the current reserves of oil in the world are constantly exhausted, I think oil prices are now regulated by supply and demand, but feed (pun based) on fears artificial "what if" scenarios, of which none has actually occurred. Are we then a few minutes walk from the oil companies?
